National Natural Family Planning
Awareness Week

The USCCB each year dedicates the
3rd week of July as National Natural Family Planning (NFP) Awareness
Week (July 24-30, 2011). This coincides with the anniversary of the
papal encyclical Humanae Vitae (July 25) which articulates Catholic
beliefs about human sexuality, conjugal love and responsible
parenthood. The dates also mark the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne
(July 26), the parents of the Blessed Mother.
The
Archdiocesan Office of Marriage, Family and Life will be offering an
NFP awareness night: "Satisfying the Human Appetite in a
Natural Way: A Discussion Relating to the Human Hunger in Body, Mind
and Spirit" to promote the understanding of NFP and this
national event. Our keynote speaker for the evening will be Fr. Leo
Patalinghug, nationally know, sought after speaker of the movement
"Grace Before Meals".
Fr. Patalinghug is a priest in
the Archdiocese of Baltimore and currently serves as the Director of
Pastoral Field Education at the Seminary of Mount St. Mary's
University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. His cooking skills, learned from
his family, and his love for the culinary arts have helped him
promote a unique ministry as the host of the award winning web show
"Grace Before Meals", which strengthens family relationships around
the dinner table.
Fr. Leo Patalinghug will be offering two
presentations: Natural Family Planning: The Human desires According
to God's Plan and one of his famous cooking demonstrations! Come
learn more about planning families the natural way, strengthening
your marriage with tangible ways to share your thoughts, emotions
and needs with your spouse.
Please plan to join us for this
interactive evening of fun and learning about the life-giving love
of marriage. To register for this evening call or email Nancy Shulte
