All "fully insured" Minnesota health insurance plans offering family planning benefits are required by legislation to reimburse for NFP services. Thus, you may call your insurer and ask:
- Is my health plan "fully-insured?"
- Does my health plan include "family planning benefits?" (ex. contraception)
- Does my health plan cover Procedure Code H1010?
If the answer to these questions is affirmative, your plan should cover NFP services. "Self-insured" plans are not currently under this mandate, but may still cover the procedure.
